Introduction
The enhanced job search function will allow you to search faster, more efficiently and give you more relevant results amongst high volumes of data!
This guide will help you to understand the possibilities of the feature and how to utilise it in the best way.
How to use
Firstly, navigate to the Jobs > All Jobs page. The Enhanced Search toggle will already be on by default. If you’d prefer not to use the enhanced search, you can switch it off via the toggle to use the previous search method. However, if turned off, the toggle will automatically switch back to ‘on’ after 24 hours. This has been done intentionally as the new enhanced search function will eventually become the system’s primary search method, replacing or merging with the previous search tool.
With the previous search tool, if you search for something, the system will find anything that includes that search term and bring back all results. However, with enhanced search, if you know the starting point of an address or job number, for example, you can use this enhanced search tool instead to only find results that START with this term, bringing back less overall results, but more relevant results!
There are also operators (a symbol used on a computer to represent an action or process) that can be used within the search bar.
To refine your search, the operator: * can be used.
To exclude a search term, the operator: - can be used.
An example instance of when these operators may prove useful is when searching for jobs when there are multiple, similar job descriptions present but when only jobs with one specific description is required. For example, show me all 'Grass Mowing' jobs but exclude 'Grass Strimming' jobs.
