Release Details

This week’s release includes four small but impactful enhancements designed to bring more clarity and oversight into your day-to-day workflows, especially when working with subcontractors, quotes and on job planning. From better visibility of long SOR (schedule of rates) descriptions to improved audit trails, these updates aim to reduce admin time, improve user experience and strengthen accountability. Read on for the full details 👇

1. Planner - Subcontractor Jobs Display 📅👷

Previously, the Planner was great for managing in-house engineers, but lacked visibility and scheduling tools for subcontracted work, making subcontractor allocation a bit of a blind spot.

With this release, that changes.

You can now switch the Planner into Subcontractor Mode, giving you a full view of all jobs assigned to your external subcontractors. This allows you to plan, allocate and oversee subcontractor visits with the same ease and flexibility as internal resources.

New features include:

  • A new ‘Subcontractor Planner View’ setting to choose whether or not to switch the function on

  • When switched on, a new “Subcontractor” area in the Planner lets you switch between engineer and subcontractor views

  • View all subcontractor jobs, regardless of job type, just like in the legacy planner

  • Assign jobs to subcontractors using the familiar drag and drop action

  • A dedicated allocation popup appears when assigning jobs to subcontractors, showing P.O (purchase order) and scheduling information

  • Subcontractor specific filters are now available to help you quickly find subcontractors

  • Supports Day, Week, Month and Agenda views

  • Excludes engineer-specific features like travel time and optimisation for cleaner, more relevant subcontractor planning

  • Includes map based views showing subcontractor address and job location

  • When allocating jobs to subcontractors, the system checks the ‘Raise Subcontractor P.O’s for Subcontractor Portal Users’ setting to determine whether to show the full P.O allocation screen or a simpler confirmation message

  • If the ‘Raise Subcontractor P.O’s setting is turned off for that subcontractor, users will see a quick confirmation popup instead of the P.O screen

  • If the setting is on, the usual P.O allocation screen will appear

Why is this beneficial?

Until now, subcontractor work scheduling has been disconnected from the rest of the planning flow, often managed across different screens or modules. This update makes it possible to visualise and allocate subcontractor jobs directly within the Planner, improving visibility, speeding up job assignment and reducing reliance on manual workarounds. It also keeps everything in sync between the field and the back-office. 📍

2. Expanded SOR Description Field ✏️

You’ve now got much more room to work with when adding or editing SOR descriptions. We’ve increased the character limit here, allowing for much more text and making it easier to include more detailed information where needed. Whether it’s technical notes, scope breakdowns or internal references, everything can now be covered.

New features include:

  • The description field for SOR entries in the library has been expanded to accept up to 4,000 characters.

  • This increased limit also applies across key areas like Job Costing, Quote Pricing and the SOR Quick Add functions.

  • The system will alert users if they try to go beyond the new limit, ensuring clean and consistent data entry.

Why is this beneficial?
Previously, you had to be brief, sometimes too brief, when writing SOR descriptions. Now there’s space to give a fuller picture, supporting clearer communication between teams and clients. 📝💡

3. Clearer Visit Status Tooltips on the Job Listing Screen 🖱️📝

Visit statuses and tooltips just got a tidy-up! Previously, when jobs had multiple visits against them, the status text could overflow or become unreadable in the job list when hovered over so we’ve cleaned this up a bit. We’ve improved how this information is displayed, so users can easily see what’s going on without needing to open each job individually.

New features include:

  • Job visit statuses are now neatly shortened in the list view using a number icon (+4) when they run too long

  • Hovering over these trimmed items reveals a clearer, better-formatted tooltip with line breaks, making it easier to read at a glance

  • The new tooltip design improves consistency across other job fields too, giving back-office teams a much smoother experience

Why is this beneficial?
This update may seem simple but it has big implications all round for our users, especially those who see the job listing screen everyday. It saves time by reducing the need to open each job just to check status updates which is especially helpful when dealing with complex or high-activity jobs. On top of this it keeps the screen clean while still giving you the full picture when you need it 👀📋

4. Quote Edits Audit Trail📝

We’ve added a new layer of traceability to quote management by extending the audit trail for edits made. You’ll now be able to see who’s made changes to SOR cost lines and “Other” lines inside a quote.

New features include:

  • Add, edit and delete actions on SOR cost lines are now captured in quote audit trails

  • Changes to “Other” cost lines are also recorded, allowing you to fully understand the before and after states of quotes

Why is this beneficial?
This makes it easier to track changes and maintain consistency in pricing, especially in teams where multiple users contribute to quoting. Whether it’s adjusting materials, labour or extras, now you'll always know what changed and when. 📋🕵️

Bug Fixes 🐞🛠️

We’ve resolved a number of behind-the-scenes issues to improve your day-to-day experience across the platform. From tracking accuracy to smoother invoicing and reporting, these fixes are designed to keep your workflows consistent and reliable.

GPS Coordinates Causing Map Errors

The Live and Historical Tracking screens were previously displaying invalid GPS locations, leading to confusing or broken map views. These invalid entries have now been fixed, maintaining accurate tracking data.

Mobile Timesheet and Back Office Mismatch
A discrepancy in recorded working hours between the Mobile Timesheet’s week view and the back-office has been corrected, ensuring that recorded time now matches across all platforms.

Tax Rates Searches
Searching for Tax Rates in the system was incorrectly directing users to taks items in some instances. The search now correctly routes to the Settings > Library > Tax Rates page.

Amber SLA Threshold Blocking Jobs
Job logging was mistakenly being blocked at the Amber SLA (service level agreement) threshold instead of just the Red threshold where applicable. This has been resolved meaning that users will now receive a warning at Amber but can still proceed to log the job.

Engineer Pay Bands Resetting
Changing an engineer’s pay band after saving was causing their “Cost per Hour” to reset to £0. This has now been fixed to retain the correct value when updating pay bands.

Live Tracking Journey Splits
Start and End location labels in Live Tracking weren’t displaying correctly, and journeys weren't splitting as expected. The system has now been fixed to ensure that this information displays correctly.

Scheduled Reports Triggering Multiple Sends
A bug in monthly report scheduling was causing repeated sends of the same report. This has been corrected meaning that the selected reports only send as scheduled.

Grouped Invoices Not Updating Job Statuses
Some jobs related to customer grouped invoices weren’t updating to “Invoiced” after approval. This has been fixed to ensure all relevant jobs are marked correctly once invoices are processed.

Missing Attachments in Subcontractor Emails
Attachments configured in email templates were not being included in expiry notification emails to subcontractors. All attached documents will now be correctly sent out.

PPM Visit Dates Reverting After Edits
Editing a past PPM (planned preventative maintenance) visit was causing its planned visit date to revert to the original due date. This has been resolved to preserve the correct visit date when retrospective changes are made.

PPM Export Mismatch
PPM records filtered by ‘tags’ weren’t matching exported data. The export function has now been corrected to reflect the filtered list properly.

Invoices Without Prefixes
Customers were being blocked from raising invoices without a number prefix. This restriction has now been removed, restoring the ability to raise invoices without a prefix where appropriate.

SOR Invoice Totals Not Matching
Discrepancies were found between the job and quote amounts in the SOR invoice totals. Calculations and display logic have now been corrected so that these values match as expected.

Exported Quotes with Ampersands (&) Corrupting Data
Exporting quotes with an ampersand (&) in the customer name was resulting in corrupted data within the export file. This has now been corrected meaning quote exports will be able to handle special characters correctly again.

We appreciate your patience while we addressed these issues, and we’re sorry for any disruption they may have caused. If you spot anything else that doesn’t look right, our support team is on hand to help. 📞
